When you are dieting for body building, there are three
things you need to eat; protein, carbohydrates, and fat. This is considered a weight gain diet because you need to gain the weight for the muscle mass to explode. You should eat around 1-2 grams of
protein per pound of your body weight. 30-60% of your intake of the weight gain diet should be of carbohydrate and 20-30% should be of fat. For example, if you are very active then you will eat a
diet that is high in carbohydrates.
This will address the needs of your energy levels and might look like 25% protein, 55% carbohydrates, and 20% fat. If you are very skinny and looking for
massive weight gain and muscle mass build then you might have problems gaining weight. You will need to start out eating large amounts of proteins and fat and the diet might look like 40% protein,
30% carbohydrates, and 30% fat. If your body has a larger amount of fat and you want to turn that fat into muscle mass, then your diet should contain a higher percentage of protein to at least
40-50%.
Get Plenty Of Rest
One of the biggest things that you need when you are body building and
gaining muscle massis plenty of rest. Overworking yourself can be dangerous and your muscles need the time to rest also. Overtraining syndrome can occur when
the body is being damaged more than it can repair alone. When you body build and weight train you initiate small tears in the muscles. The body in return repairs and rebuilds the tissues into
stronger muscles.
Rest is needed so the body can repair these tissues. If rests does not occur, then the tearing continues without being able to repair and significant
damage to the body can be done. Signs of problems with overtraining include fatigue and performance lessening. Training should be halted until these signs have disappeared and the body is back to
normal. Don't overdo it because you will only slow down the body building process. You will not speed it up.
Final Thoughts
When you are considering body building , you should think about everything you need to do to be successful. You will need to gain weight properly and work your muscles properly so you are creating muscle mass and not damaging your
body. If you are smart with your workouts, then you will be very successful with your body building. Choose your workouts wisely and always remember the three R's. Research, Research, and Research!
Good Luck on your bodybuilding journey!
