It is not possible to put into the words the importance of
meditation to your quality of life. I know that in our fast paced lives, where demands are high and time is short that it may seem as though we do not have the time to
meditate. It is this very reason that we need to take a moment or two for meditation. Meditating on a daily basis will help you alleviate stress and tension. You may be one of those people who doesn't believe that they need to meditate, that stress does not affect them. So I ask, How well do you sleep? Do you find it difficult at times to
concentrate on what you are doing? Do you suffer from allergies, arthritis, high blood pressure or depression? Are you easily irritated by others? Do you find you don't have time to accomplish
things in your life? Are you alive? If you answered yes to any of those questions, you should be meditating.
There has been a lot of research done lately to support the
health benefits that meditation offers on a physiological level. Even the medical community recognizes that daily meditation can lower
blood pressure, improve the way oxygen is used by the body, and improve blood circulation and heart function. These are just the physical benefits of meditation the primary benefits are seen in our
mental state of being. Meditation is also key to deepening your spiritual connection.
Daily meditation will also provide you with a tool for letting
go of all the daily negative influences that we all face. The better understanding that you are going to have of yourself will release you from continuing to try to
rationalize actions and beliefs of others and then applying them to yourself. You are individual, and you have control over your body, mind and soul and how you interact with the world around you.
